Sen. Chris Dodd murks Bill O'Reilly

I heard an audiotape for a few hours of a O'Reilly book a while ago. It wasn't by choice, I was in a roadtrip with some friends. O'Reilly actually had some good points & examples on how no one except your family (not even then at times) is looking out for your best interests. Of course, this is also common sense knowledge, probably referenced in ancient Greek documents, but that's besides the point.

Although O'Reilly made some good points, the dude is a hypocrite in that he's NOT looking out for the public's interest, in fact he's as bad as nearly anyone in the media.

O'Reilly's latest crusade is against democratic/progressive politics blog Daily Kos. This blog, like many blogs, allows comments.

O'Reilly is stating
1 some specific examples of shocking statements or photos made by commenters
2 saying that the Daily Kos is a hate site

This is so intellectually dishonest, that I now reject O'Reilly fully & will assume he's an evil man, propagandist, trying to trick people, not help them. O'Reilly is extremely insulting to his audience for making a statement, that anyone familiar with the blog comments knows is bogus.

The closest analogy I can think of, is that if a newspaper like the Mpls Star Tribune was a "hate site", if a KKKer wrote a letter to editor advocating the murder of Blacks.

I also heard on The Young Turks, that O'Reilly's audience has an average age of 71. It's quite possible that his audience is not internet-savvy enough to understand O'Reilly's trick about equating random anonymous commenters with actual blog owners/writers.

Sen. Chris Dodd murks Bill O'Reilly "on his own shit" (c) Nas describing Eminem's superior verse to Jay-Z's, on the latter's album.

There is 1 extremely ironic & hypocritical moment, where O'Reilly calls Dodd a "propagandist"! Ha! Holy hypocrisy & douchebaggery!

Dodd ethers O'Reilly when citing an Indiana university study saying that O'Reilly makes derogatory comments on individuals every 7 seconds.

I now put O'Reilly as the 3rd worst American media right-wingnut douchebags behind mAnn Coulter & Michael Weiner "Savage". O'Reilly isn't advocating genocide of arabs & muslims like these Top2 wingnuts are, so he's not quite as horrible as them.

Scott Horton - libertarian with good podcast interviews

I stumbled upon this guy Scott Horton. I listened to a few mp3 podcast interviews he has, which you can cop here. Horton is 31 yr old libertarian in Austin, TX, where he has a local radio show. Horton has good interviews with experts in different fields. Horton's interviewees give a perspective you don't hear in the MSM. I'm not a libertarian, but I enjoyed the mp3s I listened to. Horton will blast both the ReThugs & the Dems for their failures, which is nice. The only downside to Horton, is that dude is a Ron Paul-stan. I don't have any beef with Paul per se, but Horton's stannery is excessive, to the point where he'll throw in a Paul 08 non-sequitir every 20 minutes or so. But I can live with this stannery, since his interviewees are insightful. Give Horton a listen.

Don't use your work email for nonwork purposes

BTW, you may consider not sending nonwork emails from your work email.

I know a guy from tennis in Atlanta. He was fired from his Lockheed Martin engineering job for merely forwarding an e-mail that he received from another Lockheed guy, to a few friends. HR made an example out of him. The email had a racial joke. I forget what it was, but it wasn't even racist, not even at the level of a Mencia/Chappelle joke. Not close to Imus, & definitely not even anywhere close the actually racist level of Weiner "Savage" or mAnn Coulter. Again he just forwarded the joke email, it wasn't even his email.

That example shook me from ever wanting the use work email for nonwork purposes.

Iraq Futbol - Asian Cup 2007 Champions

Shout out to the Iraqi Futbol squad, who are the Champions of Asia. If any country could use a sports championship, to provide a moment of celebration & respite from the despair in their country, it's Iraq.

I could write something about the irony of
Iraq - who had nothing to do with 9/11
beating in the Cup Final
Saudi Arabia - who had 15/19 hijackers of the 9/11 attack

But I'll refrain.

Final v Saudi Arabia

Semi v S. Korea

Russell Peters

This comedian Russell Peters is quite good. I saw his show "Outsourced" on Comedy Central. Peters is a Canadian of Asian Indian ethnicity. Watch this excerpt.

Best of 2007H1 for rap albums

FYI - some blogs have published their lists of the best rap albums of the the 1st half of 2007.

Of course, I have a running list at RYM for 2007 albums of all genres (no only rap, but mainly rap), so I'll link to that as well.

El Gringo Colombiano RYM list
Byron Crawford
Straight Bangin
When They Reminisce

Here's some of the other RYMers' similar 2007 lists. Note these may be updated at any time with additional albums listened to.
Diction (possibly the most thorough rap listener on or off the internets)

If you have a similar list, or know of a good one, tell me about it in the comments.

If you want to preview anything you read about on one of these lists, you're in luck. Apparently HHB has died, but these dudes are really thorough.

Here's some key points from my list:
#3 album: Blue Scholars are the "rookies of the year" so far. I propped their album Bayani here, but other smart cats on the internets are confirming my view, so you know this is not a simple case of stannery!

#2 There are a lot of Common haters (yes pun intended) on the internets. Don't believe the hate, Finding Forever is excellent!

#1 LB's legally free mixtape is still the #1 album of the year! Even mixtape guru Belize propped it! Cop that!
